Follow-up on AGM

Vaadat Bikoret: David Waimann has agreed to be a candidate. Other members will be approached in the next few days.

Financial Report 2004: We have received a list of the debts and are circulating it to the appropriate members for their comments.

Program Agreed that it was important to have an attractive program on the night of the AGM. Next year there should be a communal Tu B'Shvat seder.

Events

Purimshpiel Review was a great success, thanks to the work of all the "Shpielers".

Shabbat Iyun On Shabbat Parshat Truma a yom iyun will take place with Shmuel Bing, from Maaglei Tzedek, on Tzedek Hevrati.

Shabbat Hagadol A speaker is being sought. Tamar Biala and Yehuda Mirsky will be asked to speak. Penina will circulate a message to all those involved in arranging speakers for suggestions regarding all the upcoming holidays (Shabbat Hagadol, Yom Haatzmaut, Shavuot, etc)

Purim: Esther will prepare the flyer, based on that of previous years. It will note that the Women’s reading on Purim morning will be read by a bat-mitzvah. Details of the Seudah will appear on the flyer. Income should cover expenses. If necessary 200 NIS will be budgeted for an accompanist for the Purimshpiel.

Pesach: All kitchen surfaces will be covered, the sink kashered and equipment locked away, so that the kitchen can be used for events. Orit will ask Aharon Elgavi if he will conduct the Siyum erev Pesach.

Yom Hashoah: A number of possibilities were raised:

- Dina Winer can arrange for films of Reut School's activity in Poland (cleaning and restoring cemeteries) to be shown, with participants present;

- Yedidya members be filmed in Bikat Hak'hilot, in front of their town names, talking of their memories and experiences. This would be done on a Friday before Yom Hashoah;

- Esther's son, Jonathan, will be here and could talk about his new film, an expose of   I.G. Farben.

- David Amit could talk about his mother's experiences in Holland.

Penina will speak with Etti Ashkenazi to finalize the program at Yad Vashem with David Silberklang, and to call on Yedidya members to contribute their family stories.

Penina will also confirm with Dina Wiener her willingness and availability to talk about the Reut School program at Yedidya’s Erev Yom Hashoa program.

Yom Haatzmaut Bambi Sheleg will be invited to speak.

Evening Discussion on Religious Zionism Suggested this take place in May, with at least two speakers of different views. A number of names were mentioned, including Yonatan Bassi, Rav Froman and Prof. Rafi Yisraeli. Such an event will have to be well-publicised and either a nominal entrance fee or voluntary donations will be requested.

Shabbaton has not yet been arranged. Members will be asked to suggest appropriate places for between 150-200 people, within two hours of Jerusalem.

Finance

Watering system for garden Four estimates were received. Yaniv's (Ginot Bar) estimate of 10,285 NIS + VAT was accepted. This is covered by a donation. We will have to advise Gihon so that they will charge appropriately for the water. Before moving ahead, it will be checked if building committee members saw the plan.

Building Fund / Chairs. While it was agreed that other items need to be taken care of, (downstairs mechitza e.g.) chairs are in constant use so they are a priority. The Building Fund will pay Aliza Arens up to $250 to contact suppliers to bring examples of chairs. We will also consult with her and with Vivi Salomon about commercially available mechitza for downstairs, in order to expand the women's reading area.

Cleaner's salary. He has requested an increase, but, in the light of high maintenance costs expected in the next month or so, it was decided to deny the request now, and re-examine it again after Pesach.

Use of Hebrew

Since Kobi raised this issue the discussion was postponed until he returns from abroad.

Miscellaneous

A suggestion was received that we post on the web-site texts of drashot of Bnei- and Bnot-Mitzvah. This was thought an excellent idea and members will be asked to send them to Warren. Adult darshanim will also be invited to do so.

Political Meetings

Decided that we will not allow individual political parties to hold pre-election meetings at Yedidya.
